Juried Art Show

Since 1979, the Westman Juried Art Show is an annual event organized by the Arts West Council and hosted by various arts clubs and councils in the Westman Region of Manitoba.

The Juried Art Show highlights amateur artists. Artists resident in the Westman Region may submit up to two works for adjudication by the jurors. Awards include: Travelling Gallery selection, Honourable Mentions, People's Choice and Youth Awards. Jurors select 20 works from the Juried Show to form a Travelling Gallery which will travel through communities in the Westman Region over the following year.

The purpose of the Juried Art Show is to provide amateur and emerging artists a venue for professional critique (artists receive an individual critique from each juror) and an opportunity to present their work to the general public.

In 2023, the 44th Annual Westman Juried Art Show will be hosted by the Carberry Plains Arts Council at the Carberry Community Hall. The Show will be installed on April 21st, juried on April 22 and a public reception held on Sunday, April 23rd. Wearing of masks at reception contingent on provincial mandate.
