About Us
Mandate
Arts West Council is an organization of volunteers who are interested in the development
of the visual arts in the Westman Region. Membership is composed of individual artists from
across the region. The constitution of the Council is on file with the Manitoba Arts Council.
In the past, Council has offered a variety of programs, including workshops, sponsorship of lectures, arts festivals, summer arts programs for children and an arts inventory. With the development of the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba as a regional centre for the visual arts, the Arts West Council has refocused its activities to sponsoring two major programs annually - the Westman Juried Art Show and the Artists' Retreat.
